Water Management
Attention: new classification for areas with water risks
Particularly affected: Italy and Greece
On 16 August 2023, WRI launched its latest version, Aqueduct 4.0, which is the version to use when inspecting operations, effective immediately. Great changes were made involving those areas where operations are obliged to submit a water management plan (which now include Italy, Greece, etc.).

As before, operations located in areas classified according to the “Water Depletion” risk indicator as “high” (50-75%) or “extremely high” (>75%) or situated in a desert climate (designated as “arid and low water use” areas) are obliged to submit a water management plan.
Operations that fall under this requirement for the first time must submit a water management plan together with the related documents.
